Deloitte has today announced that Peter Newman, Deloitte’s Oil and Gas Global Leader, has been elected to the Congress Programme Committee (CPC) of the World Petroleum Council (WPC). Peter will represent the UK Oil Industry on the CPC for the next three years, in preparation for the next Congress, in Doha in November 2011. The CPC comprises senior oil & gas sector executives from 14 countries globally, predominantly from major International Oil Companies and National Oil Companies.
Peter Newman said: “Deloitte’s continued involvement in the World Petroleum Council reinforces our commitment to meaningful involvement in the industry and our support for this important organisation.”
Peter has served on the UK National Committee of the World Petroleum Council since 2001 and he is a Council Member and Honorary Treasurer of the UK Energy Institute since 1998. He holds Fellowships at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, the Royal Geographical Society and the Energy Institute and has a long-held interest in environmental matters and interaction with global economic development.
Peter is the lead client partner for both Royal Dutch Shell plc and Perenco SA, and serves as an advisory partner for relationships with several other oil & gas clients internationally.
