Deloitte: a strong leadership position in Belgium
Deloitte strengthens its position as the biggest professional service provider in Belgium and distinguishes itself as the only firm with a strong consulting arm and a network of local offices.
Rik Vanpeteghem: “The last two years, we have noticed a growing need from our customers for a multidisciplinary approach, covering a wide range of services and solutions and involving various technical disciplines. Over the past year, the percentage of clients to whom we deliver more than one type of service has considerably increased. This growing need for a multidisciplinary approach and the power of cross-functional working is illustrated by our strong 15% growth for FY08. To reach this growth, we hire 700 new people every year, among which 350 are freshly graduated, representing a 10% net increase and positioning us as a leading recruiter on the Belgian market.”
Rik Vanpeteghem comments on the impact of the credit crunch on Deloitte’s business today: “Although strong demand for our services has continued in most areas of the business throughout the first few months of FY09, we have to remain vigilant as the shock waves of the financial and economic crisis continue to reverberate. We are keeping a close eye on economic developments and how they might affect our business. Within the current economic climate, it will be necessary to focus our services where they are most needed, adapt them to changing customer needs and accelerate our innovation capacities. This will be the best way to enhance our prospects of continued profitable growth”.
