Gemma Gough, a Personal Assistant in Deloitte, has been awarded the Financial Services PA of the Year 2005 award at the Pedestals of Recognition Awards.

Gemma joined Deloitte in 1987 and works in the Financial Advisory Services division of Deloitte, reporting to David O’Flanagan, Partner.

According to Gemma, “My work in the division has plenty of variety. I prepare Power Point presentations and reports, organise client functions, take care of travel booking and diary management activities. I love working in Deloitte, it’s a very enthusiastic, friendly and committed team. All in all, I’ve had a very happy eighteen years here.”

According to the organisers, the Pedestals of Recognition is a showcase for the standards of excellence which now exist within the profession and the Awards will offer a vital platform on which to recognise the vast contribution that an effective PA brings to their organisation. The huge number of nominations received for the awards are indicative of the high esteem that PAs are held in by their executives. There were six category winners in the Awards.

In addition to receiving her Award, Gemma also received a hotel voucher for one of the Orient-Express luxurious hotels. The Financial Services PA of the Year award was sponsored by CityJet.

Last month, Deloitte was named by the Great Place to Work Institute Ireland as one of the 50 Best Companies to Work For in Ireland. It was the year third in a row that Deloitte was named as one of the 50 Best Companies to Work for in Ireland and the firm enjoyed the unique privilege of being the only professional services firm to receive the award this year.
