Deloitte, one of Ireland’s leading professional services firms, is backing the efforts of the Irish Cricket Team to qualify for the 2007 World Cup which will take place in the West Indies.  Ireland will be one of 16 countries attempting to land one of the qualifying spots at stake this coming July.  And the good news is the qualifying tournament is taking place in Ireland.

The Deloitte sponsorship monies is helping to fund an intensive coaching and fitness programme for the Irish Squad as they build up to the qualifying tournament.  Ireland has never qualified for cricket’s World Cup Finals but victories over West Indies, Zimbabwe and Surrey in recent seasons point to this being an excellent opportunity to change that.
