Deloitte has been selected as the top accounting firm in the Alpha Magazine 2008 Alpha Awards by the Hedge Fund 100, Alpha’s most exclusive ranking of the world’s largest single-manager hedge funds. Voters have rated Deloitte as the pre-eminent accounting firm for four consecutive years.
"Deloitte’s multidisciplined approach and dedication to excellence has proven again to be the model that meets our clients’ sophisticated needs best," said Ronan Nolan, Head of the Funds Practice at Deloitte Ireland. "We are honoured to be recognised as a leader in the marketplace by our clients. It is their belief in our commitment that has made our practice such a success. We will continue our efforts to earn their respect every day."
In a year that proved to be a true test of the client-provider relationship, Deloitte surpassed its Big Four competitors in four out of five specific service categories, including audit, tax, hedge fund expertise and client service. Deloitte ranked second overall in audit and hedge fund expertise, and third overall in client service and tax.
Michael Peltz, executive editor of Alpha, a sister publication of Institutional Investor commented: "To attract institutional capital, especially amid the swirl of enormous market turbulence, hedge funds need the help of capable and trustworthy service providers. The Alpha Awards show which providers are winning hedge funds’ trust."
