John Connolly has spent his entire professional career with the firm in a variety of roles both in the UK and abroad and has lead the firm during a period of high growth and unprecedented change in the profession.
Commenting on his appointment, John Connolly, said: "I'm delighted and proud to lead Deloitte in the UK for a third term. The firm has achieved success over the last few years by placing a massive emphasis on our people as well as paying obsessive attention to client service and quality. During the period of my leadership our revenues and profits have grown respectively 347 per cent and 500 per cent.
"Deloitte's strength is in being innovative and bold. The firm prides itself on taking action quickly to capitalise on opportunities. Achievements over the last seven years have included high quality business transforming transactions - the most significant of which lead to 3,500 Andersen UK people being hired in the UK but there have been others such as the acquisition of Insurance Actuaries Bacon & Woodrow.
"Our decision to retain a consulting practice when other firm's were divesting of their consulting arms also proved to be the right decision and today we are benefiting from this bold stance," he said.
Martin Scicluna, Deloitte Chairman, said of John's re-election: "Deloitte has flourished during John Connolly's leadership and there is no doubt that this is due to John's drive and passion for success. His ambitious leadership has lead to exceptional high performance and Deloitte partners have tremendous confidence in his ability to continue succeeding."
