The annual Deloitte Pretoria Marathon took place on March 1, with the start and finish taking place at the Phobians Running Club in Lynnwood. The race was a tremendous success with a total of 1185 athletes completing the race by the cut off time of 11am. In addition to the Marathon, a 21km race, 10km race and 10km walk were completed by 3757 participants.
The sponsors, Deloitte, who had 150 employees participating, and organisers Phobians Running and Walking Club, were once again proud to be associated with this exciting and fun filled day. The race was challenging but with well manned water-points and energising musical entertainment en route, this helped alleviate some of the demands of one of the toughest road races in Gauteng and the most anticipated race on the road running calendar.

The first man home in the marathon was Phalane Othaniel from Ilanga Club in a time of 2:24:47, with the first woman home being Riana van Niekerk with Mr Price in a time of 2:57:22.
