London, December 16, 2004 — Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu member firms have more partners ranked among the top tax practitioners in their fields of expertise in the UK, the US, and the Netherlands than any other firm listed in the 2004 Expert Guide to Tax Advisers. The bi-annual "Expert Guide to Tax Advisers" was just published by Legal Media Group, a unit of Euromoney Institutional Investor, and is available at www.expertguides.com.
Deloitte has 56 tax partners in 15 countries ranked as leading tax advisors in the Guide. The tax advisors in the Expert Guide are the selected by corporate tax executives and private practitioners. William G. Dodge, a Washington-based Deloitte tax partner, was the Guide's most highly-nominated adviser in the United States.
"It is gratifying that our tax partners around the world have been recognized for their technical acumen," said Alan Schneier, global managing partner, Tax & Legal Services. "We believe that Deloitte's top ranking at the global level reinforces the strength of our international tax network. And, we are particularly pleased that at the country level the Expert Guide recognizes more tax advisers in the US, the UK and the Netherlands for Deloitte than for any other firm."
The Expert Guide to Tax Advisers is used as a resource by corporations to identify leading tax advisors around the world. Legal Media Group distributed 3,500 questionnaires to corporations and private practitioners in over 90 countries asking for their nominations of the most capable tax advisors.
In addition to being first overall for tax advice, earlier this year Deloitte member firms also ranked first with the most tax partners listed in Legal Media Group's 2004 Expert Guide to Transfer Pricing Advisors.
