WASHINGTON, D.C., July 23 , 2008 — Deloitte was recently awarded the U.S. Department of Treasury’s (Treasury) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Businesses Utilization’s “Mentor of the Year” award for outstanding commitment to the Treasury’s  Mentor Protégé Program (MPP). The Deloitte team, led by Joni Swedlund, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, and was given this year’s award for their outstanding contribution to the program resulting in increased revenues, increased employees and the award of multiple Treasury contracts for TeraThink Corporation (TeraThink), their small business protégé. 

The Mentor Protégé Program promotes relationships between select large and small businesses that support their mission to promote prosperous and stable U.S. and global economies, manage the U.S. government’s finances and safeguard our financial systems. The Deloitte team began serving as a mentor in January 2007 to Native American-owned TeraThink.
