Housing Stimulus, Extenders Top Post-Recess Congressional Agenda; Prospects for Fast Action Uncertain – Congress returns this week from the Independence Day district work period to face a full agenda that includes a must-pass housing stimulus bill, tax extenders legislation, an alternative minimum tax patch and a recently resurrected pension technical corrections bill. But disputes over amendments and entrenched disagreements over revenue raisers leave it uncertain as to how much lawmakers will be able to accomplish before they adjourn for the four-week August recess.
