• Congress Preps for Busy Post-Recess Schedule Prior to Even Busier Campaign Season – With potentially only a few more months of legislative activity before adjourning to hit the campaign trail, lawmakers return from their Memorial Day recess June 2 with hopes of addressing extenders, housing stimulus legislation, renewable energy initiatives and a host of other tax provisions.
• ‘Killer B’ Regs Implement Guidance in Prior Notices – Recently issued final, temporary and proposed regulations under section 367(b) that prevent taxpayers from utilizing so-called "Killer B" transactions generally implement Notice 2006-85, as amplified by Notice 2007-48.
