• Déjà Vu All Over Again as Lawmakers Extend Farm Bill – Despite calls from President Bush to halt negotiations on a new farm bill and to extend current law for at least a year, both the House and Senate passed yet another one-week extension, through May 2, of the farm program reauthorization bill.
• IRS Issues More Guidance on HSA Comparable Contribution Requirements – The IRS on April 16 issued final regulations that tie up two important loose ends in the rules governing employer contributions to health savings accounts.
• IRS Updates Priority Guidance Plan – The IRS on April 22 released an updated priority guidance plan that lists those projects from its original 2007-2008 plan it has completed, in addition to the 61 guidance projects it expects to complete by June 30, 2008.
