Ways & Means OKs Basis Reporting, Delay in Worldwide Interest Allocation Election to Pay for Housing Assistance Bill – The House Ways and Means Committee voted 35-5 on April 9 to approve a 10-year, $10.9 billion housing assistance tax package (H.R. 5720) that would be paid for with provisions that would require basis reporting on securities sales and delay the implementation of the worldwide interest allocation election.
