CEE Opportunities for OEM Suppliers: Supporting your start-up
Central & Eastern Europe – the new growing hub of the automotive industry in Europe
CEE Opportunities for OEM Suppliers

The automotive sector is currently one of the fastest growing sectors in the CEE region, primarily due to the significant amount of brown and green field investments either operative or currently being planned. At present there are 15 automotive assembly plants located within a 500 km radius of Budapest. It is expected that other automotive manufacturers will establish their operations in the region and thus will generate significant opportunities for supplying companies to serve the needs of OEM’s. It is forecasted that more than million car units will be produced annually in the CEE region by the year 2010. The key drivers for automotive investors establishing in CEE are European Union membership, availability of highly skilled and inexpensive labour, attractive tax regimes, less bargaining power of trade unions, favorable macroeconomic indicators, growing markets and proximity to the customer base of “old” Europe. In addition, the governments in most CEE countries are offering different types of investment incentives to make their countries more attractive.
