New directions for alumni communications
A message from Mark Bernardi, Chair, GTA Alumni Committee
This, our first issue in 2007, marks a new beginning for a year that is bound to offer us all new opportunities as well as new challenges. As you leaf through this publication, you’ll learn more about the business environment we share. It includes stories on how corporations can address the new regulatory framework around income trusts as well as the opportunities available in emerging markets.
This publication itself marks a new opportunity to reach out to all of you. As you can see, we’ve got a new name. To remind all of you that our alumni activities are all about our commitment to networking and staying in contact, we’re now The Network: Staying in touch. We’ve got a new look — we’re bigger and better than ever, because we want to make a real impact on you. In addition, this overall redesign aligns our alumni publication here in the GTA with similar Deloitte publications elsewhere in Canada. It allows us to send a consistent message, across Canada, to all our alumni, with specific sections in the publication set aside for local content.
That’s a lot of change in the short period of time since our last publication. But that’s typical of the world we live in today. So welcome to 2007. I’m looking forward to hearing from you at our next alumni event, scheduled for late Spring 2007. Plus we offer a wealth of information, including:
-
A selection of national news, events and publications
-
A summary of Deloitte's response to recent changes to income trust legislation
-
A profile of former Foreign Minister, Pierre S. Pettigrew, who recently re-joined Deloitte
-
"Life at Deloitte" and alumni "Missing in action"
