Dan Jones
Partner, Head of Sports Business Group

Dan is a Partner in the Sports Business Group at Deloitte. He manages the activities of the specialist Sports Business Group across all its services, but with a particular emphasis on Consulting and Corporate Development. He works only on sport related projects, his first sports business consulting project being the review of the Football League in England in early 1997. He is a regular speaker and expert commentator on sports business matters.

Dan has spent most of his career with Deloitte, including four years in corporate finance working on Valuations, Business Plans and Capital Raising. He also had a fifteen month spell working in industry as Mergers & Acquisitions manager for a FTSE 100 company.

Since returning to work full time in sports business consulting in January 2001 he has advised a number of high profile clients including Aston Villa, Everton, Fulham,  Leeds United, Leicester City,  Liverpool, Manchester United and Reading Football Clubs, the English Football Association and FA Premier League, the ATP Mens Tennis Tour,  the  British Horseracing  Authority , IMG, the International Rugby Board, the Irish Rugby Football Union, Leicester Tigers RFC,   NFL Europe, Octagon, the Rugby Football Union, Sportfive, Supersport, UEFA and World Snooker on a range of issues including strategic, commercial, financial, regulatory, organisational and structural matters.

Dan is the co-editor of Deloitte's widely respected publications, the Annual Review of Football Finance, Football Money League.

Dan is a season ticket holder at Manchester United FC, a somewhat lapsed supporter of London Welsh RFC and a keen follower of England cricket.
