Gerry is a Consultant and former Partner in the Sports Business Group at Deloitte. He founded the Group over 10 years ago and led its development to its present pre-eminent position in the marketplace.

Gerry is acknowledged as one of the leading specialist sports business consultants. He is a regular speaker and expert commentator on the industry. He devised and created the first Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance. Now in its 15th year, this publication represents the definitive guide to the financial and commercial facts and figures in the world's most business-oriented football nation.

Gerry's recent advisory work has included many assignments for sports governing bodies. In football - for the Danish Football League, the English Football Association, FA Premier League, the Greek Football League, the Scottish Premier League, the Swiss Football League and UEFA; and, in other sports - British Equestrian Federation, English First Division Rugby, Irish Rugby Union, the Lawn Tennis Association, Racecourse Holdings Trust, the Rugby Football League, World Snooker and UK Sport.

In addition, in the UK he has provided advice to over half of the Premiership’s member clubs, eleven Football League clubs; and, in Europe, to a number of the leading clubs, such as AC Milan, Ajax, Juventus, Lazio, Olympiakos, Real Madrid, and Club Europe (the top clubs in France).

Gerry has also worked with some of sports biggest corporate partners such as Canal+, IMG, Nike and Octagon and with many investors in, and financiers of, UK and European football. He regularly acts as expert witness in sports regulatory enquiries and disputes.

Gerry supports Oldham Athletic FC, is a member of Lancashire County Cricket Club and struggles round Royal Birkdale at Golf.
