Experience

Stephen is Dunedin Office Managing Partner and a partner in the Tax service line. He was admitted as a partner to Deloitte in January 1989. He is a director of a number of companies and is a member of the Deloitte Board of Partners. He leads the firm’s Local Government group and the South Island tax practice. He specialises in corporate and taxation advice to a significant number of public and private companies and other public institutions.

Steve’s involvement in tax advice to local government commenced with the introduction of the Local Government Amendment Act 1988. Since that time he has been a leading adviser in implementing new and proactive tax based advice to local authorities.

Publicly recognised for:

Steve has been Chief Examiner for the New Zealand Society of Accountants in Taxation and a tutor in Taxation at the Otago University. He has been the author and presenter of a number of client and public seminars on tax related topics including Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand tax course
