Experience

Ian’s career started in Deloitte’s audit sector. He went overseas to London for five years where he specialised in IT audit and control. In 1985 he returned to the firm in NZ and started the CAS group in Auckland, later bringing it to Wellington and Christchurch.

In 1990 he became a partner and continued to grow the computer audit group. In 1996 Ian got together with three other partners to establish ERS in Deloitte. His expertise includes: assisting with the design and implementation of operational risk management frameworks, assisting in the provision of effective IT assurance and governance mechanisms and providing strategic advice in the regulatory and risk management areas.

Ian is involved in providing project quality assurance to organisations undertaking large project based change. He is also heavily involved in assisting banks and insurance companies undertake the changes required by significant global regulatory change.
