 John Glaser is a senior advisor for the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions. John advises the Center and provides insight to clients on a range of subjects, including transformation of care delivery through health information technology, large-scale health information technology project management, clinical information systems and other areas relevant to health providers. He also advises the Center on areas of convergence across provider, health plans and life science companies, such as regional connectivity efforts, personalized medicine and telemedicine. In addition, John serves as vice president and chief information officer for Partners HealthCare System, Inc., an award-winning health care company, cited for its innovative use of information technology. He previously managed information systems at major hospitals. John was the founding chairman of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and is past president of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He has been a member of the Board of the American Medical Informatics Association and is currently the president of the Foundation for eHealth Initiative Board. He is a fellow of HIMSS, CHIME and the American College of Medical Informatics. He was awarded the John Gall award for healthcare CIO of the year, and CHIME established a scholarship in his name. John also received CIO Magazine’s 20/20 Vision Award and he sits on the editorial boards of CIO Magazine, Healthcare Informatics, Biotechnology Healthcare, Journal of Biomedical Informatics and Journal of Healthcare Information Management. John has published more than ninety articles and two books on the strategic application of information technology in healthcare. He holds a Ph.D in Healthcare Information Systems from the University of Minnesota. Related Content:
