Mark is a senior consultant within the Sports Business Group. He has experience across a whole spectrum of sports venues and other consulting assignments, from feasibility studies and business plan development through to strategic and operational reviews, due diligence and strategic planning. The main emphasis of much of his work is driving extra profit from venues, a subject about which Mark is very passionate and with which he has had great success. He has been involved with over 50 venues related assignments in the last 5 years.
Recent UK assignments have included work for Everton, Reading and Southend United football clubs, the Football Association, English Rugby Football Union, Leicester Tigers, NFL Europe, Bradford, Cardiff and Carmarthenshire Councils, Epsom racecourse, and Wembley National Stadium Limited.
Outside the UK Mark has worked on a league restructuring exercise for the funders of Singaporean football, whilst in mainland Europe, he has worked on stadium and other sports venue assignments with football clubs, governing bodies and funders in France, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Switzerland.
Mark has spoken widely on the subject of stadium development at conferences throughout Europe with particular emphasis on revenue generation and the development of cost effective and functional venues. He is also the author of the stadium section of the Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance.
Prior to joining the Sports Business Group, Mark was a member of the Hospitality and Leisure Consulting division of Deloitte, where he worked on a variety of assignments in the hotel, visitor attraction, commercial foodservice and tourism sectors.
With his roots in the Black Country, Mark is a keen supporter of West Bromwich Albion FC.
