Stefan is a German national and senior consultant in the Sports Business Group. Since 2003, he has been based in Düsseldorf, Germany and leads the delivery of the Group’s services in German speaking countries. In addition he is in charge of the German Leisure Industry Group with particular focus on sports, health & fitness and betting & gaming.

Stefan’s recent sports consulting projects include: Due diligence work on football clubs, sports rights agencies and media companies; FIFA World Cup 2010, involving a strategic workshop for the CEO of the organizing committee; risk and vulnerability analysis of a World Cup stadium for the FIFA World Cup 2006; a feasibility study (including sports venues) and development of bid documents for national bid campaign for FrankfurtRheinMain’s Olympic Bid 2012; a cost benefit analysis for Prague’s Olympic Bid 2016/20; Sports venue projects in Germany, Switzerland and UK reviewing business plans and cost/revenue analysis; European benchmark studies in professional football and other sports.

Stefan also has significant experience in TV & advertising rights, and sports marketing from his time at Global Sportnet, a sport marketing company in Hamburg. Since his thesis about the Games in Atlanta in 1996 (published in Sports Marketing Quarterly, Spring 1998) Stefan has also gathered an extensive knowledge about international events.
He is fluent in English and German and is a regular speaker at conferences on sport business matters.

Stefan joined Deloitte on the merger with Andersen, where he worked in the Sports Consulting Unit in Germany - SCORE. Stefan developed SCORE’s business services in professional sports and co-ordinated and promoted the national and international activities of the group.
