 Stephen O’Neil, deputy service line leader for the Global Strategies Group and national leader for International Tax Mergers and Acquisitions, is a lead and international Tax partner for some of Deloitte Tax LLP's U.S. multinational clients. He has extensive experience in advising U.S. and foreign multinational corporations on the international tax and business aspects of their global operations. Stephen's specific areas of consultation have included the structuring of cross-border investments, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, operational planning, international finance, international joint ventures, transfer pricing, corporate taxation, partnership taxation, state and local taxation, as well as the accounting for income tax (FAS 109) aspects of these matters. Stephen's experience has transcended most major industry groups, including the aerospace, chemical, consumer product, defense, energy, entertainment, financial services, manufacturing, media, pharmaceutical and telecommunication industries. Notably, he has consulted with numerous U.S. and foreign multinationals on these matters as a lead tax partner, and as part of the Global Strategies Group's International Strategic Tax Review program. Educated in the United States, Stephen obtained a bachelor of science in accounting from Syracuse University and a master's degree in taxation from Fordham University. Stephen is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the International Fiscal Association.
