Owen Ryan is the global managing partner of Deloitte & Touche LLP's Insurance practice and the U.S. Capital Markets practice. Owen also led the financial services segment of the Deloitte & Touche Merger and Acquisition (M&A) practice for seven years. He joined Deloitte & Touche in 1985 and became a partner in 1996.

Owen's wide experience in M&A strategy includes targeting, transaction execution and post-merger integration. He has had extensive experience in cross-border deals in Asia, Europe and South America and is a skilled adviser on evaluating de novo, joint venture and strategic alliance opportunities and helping to build M&A capabilities within an organization.

A frequent speaker and author, Owen has co-authored a textbook on mergers & acquisitions for the insurance industry.

He holds a Master's in Business Administration degree from Columbia University Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from New Jersey City University.

A member of various accounting groups, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Owen has served as chairman or committee member on: AICPA Insurance Companies Committee; Hudson County Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, Continuing Professional Education and Legislative Committees; New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, Board of Trustees; New York and Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
