Peter Koudal

Peter Koudal is the Director of the Deloitte Research -Manufacturing and is based in New York. He leads the global manufacturing research and focuses on business strategy and performance, supply chain management, customer relationship management, and demand-supply integration and optimization.

Recently Mr. Koudal has been working in collaboration with the Stanford Global Supply Chain Management Forum to develop a new business model that allows companies to balance their supply chain and customer relationship management capabilities to create digital loyalty networks. Such networks allow companies to respond profitably to customer demands in real time based on customer lifecycle potential, requirements, and total costs to serve. He has tested and applied this model across a number of global manufacturing industry segments, including high technology, chemical process, automotive, and consumer business. As the Financial Times stated recently: "The business case for Digital Loyalty Networks is sound. Businesses successful in an Internet-driven economy will, at their core, have an effective Digital Loyalty Network."

Mr. Koudal regularly consults with manufacturing and technology executives, consultants, and thought leaders around the world. He has authored, co-authored, and edited numerous studies on globalization and international finance, global manufacturing, supply chain management, customer relationship management, and business strategy and performance. His work has been covered in leading business media around the world, including the Asian Wall Street Journal, Business Week, The Economist, Far Eastern Economic Review, Financial Times, Fortune, Handelsblatt, The New Straits Times, The New York Times, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, South China Morning Post, and The Wall Street Journal.

Prior to joining Deloitte Research, Mr. Koudal worked with the United Nations Centre on Transnational Corporations and the Harvard Institute for International Development. He completed his B.A., M.Sc. Economics, Cand. Oecon. degrees at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, is a graduate of the executive programs at MIT and Stanford University, USA, and a member of the advisory board of the Stanford Global Supply Chain Management Forum.
