D.J. Gannon joined Deloitte & Touche LLP in July 2000 as a partner, specializing in international accounting and financial reporting as well as global regulatory and professional issues. His responsibilities include consulting on matters involving International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and working with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants that are foreign private issuers. D.J. chairs the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' (AICPA's) International Practices Task Force and the AICPA Accounting Standards Executive Committee's Short-Term International Convergence Task Force.

D.J. is the leader of our IFRS Centre of Excellence for the Americas region. Prior to that, he was the leader of International Financial Accounting Services, a group within the organization's Global Offerings Services that assists companies in implementing or converting to IFRS. He speaks and writes on a variety of global financial reporting topics.  

From November 1997 through June 2000, D.J. served as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant of the SEC. He also participated in the research and development of SEC staff positions on international accounting and reporting issues, consulted with foreign registrants on a variety of accounting, auditing and reporting matters and assisted in developing the SEC's Concept Release, International Accounting Standards.

He has participated extensively in activities of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). He served on IOSCO's Working Party No. 1 on Multinational Disclosure and Accounting and its Accounting and Auditing Subcommittee and worked on IOSCO's assessment of the International Accounting Standards Committee's (IASC's) "core standards." Before joining the SEC, D.J. was a senior manager in our National Office Accounting Research group. A graduate of the University of Central Florida in Orlando, he holds a B.S.B.A. in accounting. He is a certified public accountant in the District of Columbia and a member of the AICPA.
