 David Pleasance, based in Atlanta, is a principal in the Strategy & Operations practice of Deloitte Consulting LLP, where he focuses on serving clients in the forest products, chemicals, metals and related process industries. He has more than 25 years of experience in these industries. David has architected and led transformation programs with many global process industry companies focused on business strategy, supply chain reengineering, production and manufacturing optimization, as well as pricing and customer relationship management. He has advised both corporate and private equity clients in the structuring of merger and acquisition transactions. In the area of finance, he has led numerous transformation programs focused on improving decision support and financial management, strengthening financial control, managing enterprise risk and enhancing finance productivity. David has considerable international experience applicable to multinational clients that are facing global business issues. He has lived and worked in Europe and led engagements in Asia. Most recently he has helped clients address strategic and operational issues in China. David is a recognized industry specialist and has spoken regularly at industry conferences around the world. Most recently, he moderated an executive roundtable with Chemical Week in Shanghai, focused on addressing emerging business issues in China. David has a bachelor of applied science degree in chemical engineering and a master of business administration degree from the University of Toronto, and he is a chartered accountant. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Chemical Society.
