Today’s retailers operate in a challenging environment that requires a focused attention to customer perceptions and preferences. Yet consumers’ attention deficits make the process difficult. Consumers want their product now and they want to be “wowed” by the purchase experience. And, they have little allegiance, despite retailers’ best efforts to improve their shopping experiences.
We have identified 10 issues we believe are important to retailers today. Various retailers will likely prioritize these issues differently. The bottom line, however, is that those companies who respond quickly and well to all the challenges and opportunities of these issues will be better positioned for growth in the years ahead.
