Many observers of trends in executive compensation are currently predicting the demise of stock options. The stock market declines of the past three years, coupled with impending accounting rules changes, have taken the bloom off the rosy stock option practices of just a few years ago.
But in reality, how accurate are these predictions? We recently surveyed more than 165 of our larger clients to learn how they have changed their long-term incentive programs in light of all the controversy surrounding stock options.
