Phil Asmundson is the national managing partner of the TMT industry and national sector leader for Telecommunications. His prior leadership roles within our organization date back to 1996. Phil serves on our organization’s Strategic Advisory Committee, Service Excellence and Leadership Group (SEAL), Global TMT Executive Committee and is a member of the TMT Deloitte Research Editorial Committee. He is an active speaker and author on industry trends, challenges and opportunities. He is regularly quoted on emerging industry issues and has recorded several podcasts on predictions for the TMT Industry. This experience makes Phil a very effective spokesperson and senior executive overseeing Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 program.

Helen Adams

Helen Adams is a Certified Public Accountant with 20 years of experience providing accounting, auditing and consulting services to publicly traded and privately held clients. She works with management on key business issues, mergers and acquisitions and SEC-related matters where her creativity and experience are highly suited. Helen is one of the leading partners of our San Diego-based Technology Group and often speaks at local colleges and professional organizations on technical matters such as revenue recognition, stock compensation, accounting and regulatory matters as well as governance and leadership. She has served as chair of the local office Real Estate and Construction Group, served as Recruiting Partner for the San Diego Office and manages the San Diego Technology Fast 50 program.

Steven DiPietro

Steven DiPietro is an audit partner in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice of Deloitte & Touche and is the industry leader of our software sector. He also is one of the practice leaders at the Deloitte Tech-Venture Center at the Bay Colony Corporate Center in Waltham, where he focuses on serving early-stage and private and public, emerging-growth technology companies. Steven also serves as chair of the Deloitte New England Technology Fast 50 program. He has more than 18 years of public accounting experience, specializing in serving early-stage and emerging companies in the manufacturing, high technology, telecommunications, software and Internet industries. Steven is active in New England's technology marketplace, serving or having served on the boards of the New England Business and Technology Association (f/k/a Mass eCommerce Association), Youth Tech Entrepreneurs and on the advisory boards for Future Forward 2002, a New England Technology summit, and The Pulse of Technology, a Mass High Tech quarterly analysis of Technology Innovation. He is also an active member of the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council and the Massachusetts Software Council, participating on council panels. He has been selected as one of the best early-stage tech company accountants in a reader survey by Boston Digital News and he has been recognized as a highly regarded industry resource to the local media.

Alex Discepolo

Alex Discepolo is a Director-Lead Tax Services at Deloitte Tax LLP with 25 years of tax experience in both the private and public sector. He has extensive experience with federal and state corporate tax issues as well as international issues most common to middle market companies. His broad base of experience including employee benefits tax issues, corporate restructuring, tax credit maximization opportunities and various other tax areas provide significant benefits to client management.

Alex has been involved with many company restructurings both from the buy and sell side of a transaction. He has provided tax consulting services related to mergers and acquisitions of various types of entities and for various types of business combinations.

Alex heads up Deloitte’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice in Connecticut. Additionally, he is in charge of the Deloitte Connecticut Fast 50 program which honors the 50 fasting growing technology companies in the state. He is also a board member of the Connecticut Venture Group. He is a CPA and has a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and MBA from the University of New Haven.

Andy Harrs

Andy is Deloitte’s Regional Managing Partner for the Technology Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Industry Practice in the Southeast. With more than 20 years of strategic financial consulting experience, Andy is a legacy Mergers & Acquisitions Partner at Deloitte with extensive experience in providing transaction support and integration services to corporate and private equity clients.

Andy’s broad client service experience includes: acquisition and funding diligence services, re-structuring and work-outs, operations optimization, strategy and business planning, litigation support, and the valuation and feasibility studies.

Andy is the Lead Client Service Partner for one global media and two national technology clients, and is the advisory partner on venture backed and middle market technology companies. Andy’s clients have included MCI, Teligent, Broadwing, Convera, Servervault, American Management Systems, CTC Communications, Spectrum Equity, CSFB Investment Partners, and Matlin Patterson Asset Management.

Larry Hile

Larry Hile has more than 26 years experience working with a variety of technology companies, from software to computers to Internet and has vast knowledge of the industry and related issues. In his role as managing partner, he develops and drives the strategy for the Pacific Northwest Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice (TMT). As a TMT partner, Larry works with technology and communications companies at all stages of their growth. He regularly advises clients on contract structuring, financing and equity topics, compensation strategies and public equity issues. Larry manages various activities for the TMT practice and oversees the Fast 50 program.

Mark Jensen

Mark Jensen is a Partner and the Firm's National Director for Venture Capital Services, where he focuses on both venture capital firms and venture-backed companies. Prior to joining Deloitte, Jensen was the CFO for Redleaf Group, Inc., a Venture Capital firm providing services and capital for pre-seed and seed-stage technology companies. Jensen joined Redleaf after serving as the Global High-Technology Industry Leader for another International Professional Services Firm, where he was responsible for building that firm's technology industry program worldwide.

Jensen is well known in the technology and VC industries and has more than 30 years of experience providing audit and consulting services to VC firms and their portfolio companies. He is a frequent speaker on issues impacting early-stage VC backed companies and most recently served on the SEC advisory committee on the impact of regulation on smaller public companies.

Kris Kaufmann

Kris Kaufmann is a partner in the Los Angeles practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP focused on serving the high technology and venture capital industries. Kris leads Deloitte’s Venture Capital Services for the greater Los Angeles area. Throughout his more than 17 years with Deloitte & Touche Kris has assisted numerous rapidly-growing technology companies with the unique issues they face, such as raising venture capital, securities and intangible asset valuation, corporate structuring, acquisitions and SEC registration and compliance. Kris has worked on numerous initial public offerings and other security offerings.

Kris is active in the Southern California technology community. He has led Deloitte’s sponsorship of the Technology Council of Southern California’s VentureNet program for a number of years, participating both as an organizer and speaker. Tom McNulty has over 20 years of experience with Deloitte & Touche and has served numerous clients in the mass media industries. He is designated as a National Specialist in our Technology, Media and Telecommunications Group and serves as the leader of the TMT group in Atlanta. Tom has significant experience with issues relating to newspapers, magazines, television and radio stations, and cable television programmers and operators. Tom also has provided service to credit unions, employee benefit plans, and manufacturing and distribution companies in the Southeast. He leads our Georgia Technology Fast 50 program.



Paul Mlynarski

Paul Mlynarski brings his 14 years of public accounting experience to our Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group in New Jersey. He has significant experience working with software and technology-based business and in handling a variety of corporate tax matters, including various corporate carry-forward issues, strategic tax planning, mergers and acquisitions including reverse mergers, state and local tax minimization, stock option planning, accounting for income taxes and income deferral and expense recognition issues. Paul is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he manages the New Jersey Technology Fast 50 program.

Ed Moran

Ed is a Global TMT subject matter expert for Technology, and he provides TMT companies with consultative assistance in securing financing, strategic planning, product innovation, market segmentation, competitive positioning, and industry analysis.

Ed also is also a Tri-State leader of the venture capital practice, and leads the Nanotechnology Industry Practice and Convergence teams in New York.

Ed is a member of the National Academies’ National Nanotech Initiative (NNI) Review Committee, which was chartered by Congress to evaluate the National Nanotechnology Initiative program. Specifically, Ed and the committee have been asked by Congress to evaluate the progress and effectiveness of the multi-agency NNI program, to recommend new or revised goals and metrics, to analyze the relative position of the United States in this growing field, and to analyze the impact of nanotechnology on the U.S. economy.

Ed is also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneer Selection Advisory Committee, and the Nanotech Working Group of the US Council for International Business.

Fred Poska, the Partner in Charge of the High Technology Industry Group in Orange County, has over 22 years of experience providing accounting and auditing services for companies in technology-based industries, with extensive experience in emerging and middle market high tech companies. Key services to these companies include assistance with all types of SEC filings, mergers and acquisitions, and raising venture capital. Fred also runs the Orange County Technology Fast 50 program, which annually recognizes the 50 fastest growing technology companies in terms of percentage revenue growth over five years.
