Deloitte’s annual Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Predictions reports reveal that few new technology breakthroughs are expected this year. Instead, Canadians will confront the consequences resulting from recent tectonic shifts in technology ― and not all of the after-effects are positive. Charles Dickens famously described the aftermath of a much earlier revolution as “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” So it is with the 2008 TMT Predictions.

In this edition of Deloitte Canada Insights, John Ruffolo, national leader of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications industry group in Canada, and Duncan Stewart, director of research for the TMT practice in Canada, explain how emerging TMT trends will affect Canadian businesses in 2008. They also describe how Canadian executives can apply these predictions to help manage risk, enhance strategic planning initiatives and boost their bottom line.
