As Deloitte's Global e-Business Leader, she has responsibility for the firm’s e-business efforts worldwide.
A respected and accomplished business/technology adviser, Cathy has been named one of the industry’s 25 Most Influential Consultants as well as a Frontline Leader by Consulting Magazine. She has also been recognized numerous times by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the most influential women in the Bay Area and is the subject of various articles and media productions on business transformation and women in the global business arena.
Cathy earned her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and Bachelor of Science degree from Ramapo College. She previously held several management positions in information technology and financial services companies.

A distinguished educator and pioneer in the field of information systems management, Professor McFarlan's work over the past four decades centers on how companies can harness technology to drive greater business performance. His research and teaching on information management systems was initially introduced at the Harvard Business School in 1962 and has subsequently become an integral part of the MBA and Executive Education curriculum.
From notable appointments as Chairman of Executive Education and Senior Associate Dean and Director of Research to his current role as Director of HBS's Asia-Pacific Initiative, Professor McFarlan works closely with global Fortune 500 executives to deliver business value through the integration of business and technology strategies.
Professor McFarlan is a prolific author. In addition to Connecting The Dots, his most recent works include Corporate Information Strategy Management: Text and Cases (sixth edition) and Creating Business Advantage in the Information Age, both co-authored with Professors Lynda M. Applegate and Robert D. Austin (2002). He has also authored many articles for the Harvard Business Review and served as Senior Editor of the MIS Quarterly. Professor McFarlan is a graduate of the Harvard Business School (MBA & DBA) and a member of several corporate and non-profit boards.
