Exploring the options
This paper discusses the growing IT issues facing companies in the oilfields of the North Sea but applies equally as much to oil companies operating elsewhere with increased connectivity between their upstream and downstream businesses, and third parties, over semi-public networks. 

It outlines the challenges which oil companies face in seeking to safeguard their IT assets and what needs to be correctly managed in order to maintain integrity, safety and reliability as well as reducing business exposure.
