  • Iris liveness detection measures
The "Encyclopaedia of Biometrics", planned for publication by Springer in early 2009, will provide a comprehensive reference to 250 topics of the broad field of biometrics. The encyclopaedia will be available as printed volume and an online reference work. Based on our vendor-independent expertise and publication record in this area, Deloitte was asked to contribute a chapter on liveness detection for iris recognition.
  • Latest biometric test results: performance, quality, & interoperability
In 2005 and 2006, the Deloitte Security & Privacy team partnered the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) to conduct a trial involving a variety of innovative biometric technologies. The executive summary of the findings was published in the Nov/Dec 2006 edition of Biometric Technology Today (BTT). This paper demonstrates how biometric technologies have advanced since the last technical performance tests, which took place in 2000/2001.
  • Biometrics in the corporate environment
Our 'Biometrics in the Corporate Environment' article appeared in Chartech, the IT news magazine of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales in October 2005. This paper discusses the main success factors that need to be met for biometrics to become widespread in the corporate environment.
  • Biometric liveness detection  Information Security Bulletin (ISB) is the world's leading professional journal in the field of information security. The publication enjoys a world wide readership with readers in more than 90 countries. It is available by subscription to information security professionals only. Deloitte's biometric experts contributed an article on 'Biometric Liveness Detection' which appeared in the October 2005 issue of ISB. This in-depth paper explores the risks associated with spoofing of biometric samples and introduces liveness testing as a possible countermeasure.
  • Biometric lessons learned? New technologies at our borders
This presentation was prepared for the I-4 Forum 55, which took place in Barcelona in June 2005, to demonstrate how technology & hardware selection, systems architecture and other issues affect the performance and usability of biometric systems.
  • Biometric ID card debates
This article discusses the arguments for and against biometric ID cards, and also takes a look at the technologies available. The article was published by ISACA Chapter Switzerland's Newsletter dedicated to biometrics in June 05 and distributed to around 1400 IT security professionals in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

  • Liveness detection for iris recognition
This presentation was prepared for the ‘Biometrics and E-Authentication over Open Networks’ workshop organized by NIST, which took place in Gaithersburg, MD in April 2005, to demonstrate the robustness of iris recognition against spoofing attacks.

  • Biometric security
This whitepaper is the result of intensive market research and analysis to provide a comprehensive overview of available biometric technologies, their strengths and weaknesses, and to explore a wide range of application scenarios in which biometric techniques are superior to traditional identification and authentication methods.
