As part of the 2006 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific program, the Global Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) industry group surveys the region's chief executives about emerging business issues and trends. The study reveals a number of interesting insights, including:

People are key
CEOs are focusing on people with 44.2 percent of CEOs saying that the recruitment, development and retention of key people is their most important task and biggest challenge.

The biggest personal challenges
Beyond the big operational challenges faced by CEOs, the top personal challenge for nearly 33 percent is developing leaders and delegating responsibility.

Confidence at the top
A fantastic 87 percent of the CEOs indicated that they were either very confident or extremely confident that they could maintain current growth rates.
