If you could choose one image to sum up working in the mining industry, what would it be? We want to hear from you because we’re looking to unearth a powerful image that captures what it’s like working in mining today. So, if you’re inspired by what you see when you go to work, share your view with us.
This year’s mining photography competition has four categories: - Surface mining
- Underground mining
- Mining equipment
- People in mining
The prize? The chance to become a miner celebrity as you may see your photo feature in Mining Journal and exhibited at Mines and Money events in London, Gulf and Asia throughout 2008/09.

How to enter:
For your chance to be in the spotlight, please submit your entries as follows: - Each photograph should be sent as an email attachment to photos@mining-journal.com.
- All submitted photos must be digital images, preferably in jpeg format and image quality 300dpi.
- The photograph file name should be the sender's surname, followed by a numeral (eg, Smith1).
- Please note that multiple entries should be submitted as separate emails (ie, each photograph file name should use a different numeral).
Please include the following supporting information (including the waiver acknowledgement) in the body of your e-mail: - First name:

In entering the 2008/09 mining photographic competition, I accept that this submitted image might be used in the publications and online activity of Aspermont UK and Deloitte (with full attribution).
I understand that the winning photos will be published in a dedicated supplement and on the Mining Journal website, and may feature in various Deloitte exhibitions throughout the course of the competition.
The small print: - All entries must be made by individuals, rather than companies or organisations.
- Aspermont UK and Deloitte staff, and their families, may not enter the competition.
- The competition will be judged by a panel of people drawn from Aspermont UK and Deloitte.
