Deloitte win British Computer Society (BCS) Award

Deloitte's Technology Integration practice has won an award from The BCS (British Computer Society) for The Best Established Professional Development Scheme which recognises continued excellence in developing IT working practices and increasing skills, standards and professionalism within UK businesses.

The BCS is the Chartered Institute for the IT Profession in the UK.  The BCS awards recognise and promote excellence, professionalism and innovation.

Through the Professional Development scheme at Deloitte, technology practitioners are able to achieve Chartered IT Professional (CITP) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

David Morris, president of the BCS, commented, "We have had a tough challenge short-listing the 94 medallists due to the high calibre of entries received.  Last night's winners are a shining example of how the UK is driving European technology innovation and professionalism."

Deloitte was previously a runner up in the 2003 Awards for Best New Scheme Implementation.  The selection for this award was based on our previous annual inspection reports and a presentation which was made to the BCS judging panel.

Key members of the team, who have contributed to this success are Nick Davis, Lisa Smith, Louise Nickson, Mike Grafham, James Glover and Ramin Beheshti.  Chris Loughran, Chris Miller and Richard Porter sponsored the initiative.
