.jpg) Corporate Board Member magazine published an editorial highlighting the findings of Deloitte Consulting LLP's collaborative Board and Information Technology (IT) study. The piece reveals that although board members trumpet the importance of information technology to their company, too few are doing anything about it. The article highlights the following “big conundrum”: A majority of the directors surveyed recognize that IT is very important or important to success in various areas of their company’s business. Despite this understanding of the importance that IT plays on business success, directors aren’t pushing to get IT onto the agenda for their board meetings. Furthermore, companies whose boards monitor IT strategy perform better financially than those whose boards don’t.
