Engaging Consumers in Health Care
America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Institute 2008

The year 2008 has been a period of guarded status quo for the health sciences industry, as health plans, providers and life sciences companies wait for a new president and Congress to set the nation’s health care agenda for the next four years. Common issues in 2008 have included rising costs, consumerism, wellness and prevention, industry convergence, talent management and a focus on execution. Many of these same issues were explored at AHIP’s Institute 2008, June 18–20, 2008, in San Francisco. Deloitte was pleased to be a part of the conversation. Explore the links below to learn more about our involvement with the Institute, discover how other professionals are confronting the same issues you face and review our latest health plan research.

What has been lacking, however, is information about and insight into the diversity of health care consumers and how our population is changing. Deloitte's Dr. Paul Keckley and Michael Canning led the Institute discussion.
