Deloitte member firms’ services to renewable project developers are organized by the project development stage. They have services for project planning, development and production phases. Member firm clients include wind and biomass generation project developers, ethanol and bio-diesel producers.

Project Planning Phase

Strategic consulting to assist renewable project developers to develop strategies that integrate the benefit of tax incentives, emission reduction incentives, Renewable Portfolio Standards (U.S.) and Renewable Offset Credits (U.K.). Deloitte member firms assist with financial modeling, arranging of financing and IPO processes. They provide advice on relief available for green technologies (e.g., R&D and Enhanced Capital Allowances).

Project Development Phase

Development of capability to monitor emissions versus baseline, including development of footprint, implementation of procedures, and tools for monitoring, recording, and reporting emissions versus baseline. Experience in developing capability to transact bio-fuels and emissions in traded markets.

Project Production Phase

Valuing traded instruments for bio-fuels and emissions instruments and derivatives, providing assurance with respect to emission reductions, (e.g. for ROC, RPS markets or green certificate markets), and providing advice on sustaining competitive advantage as emissions prices and constraints change. Deloitte member firms bring their understanding of emissions markets and renewable energy to the auditing of financial statements.
