Abacus 6.4 - Release newsletter
February 2007

This release contains updates and improvements to several areas of Abacus, including improved system features to aid in the navigation through the software and the CT600 (2006) forms which have been finalised by HMRC.

CT600 (2006) Version 2 and supplementary pages
This release of the software contains the new CT600 (2006) forms together with the 2006 versions of the supplementary pages. Changes of particular note are on the Group and Consortium form CT600C:

  • New box C1C for group relief claims involving losses of non-resident companies.
  • The wording of box C1B has been amended such that it now only applies to trades carried on in the UK.

E-filing
E-filing requires that you split the calculation of the tax for accounting periods that span financial years into each financial year even where that would not be required on the paper form. Abacus defaults to only performing the split if it is required on the paper form. Abacus defaults to only performing the split if it is required (i.e. where any of the lower or upper relevant amounts, or the marginal fraction have changed between the financial tears).
