There is little doubt that China offers bountiful - and tempting - opportunities for pharmaceutical companies. Much of this appeal lies in its astounding economic growth along with its openness to clinical trials, and tremendous cost savings in research & development. For all its opportunities, however, China also poses a unique set of challenges for pharmaceutical companies, including intellectual property, complex distribution channels and pricing.
