Hospitality Vision – Asia Pacific Performance Review
Great expectations
Asia Pacific Performance Review

The tigers of Asia Pacific are still roaring, attracting more visitors each year and developing their attractions to reach new target audiences. With predictions that international visitor arrivals to Asia Pacific will more than double by the end of 2010 to 500 million, this is clearly a region with great expectations.

Although parts of Asia Pacific are inevitably facing the general economic slow down that is damaging many markets, the outlook for most countries in the region is more positive than elsewhere in the world. The first half of 2008 has been a good one for hoteliers across Asia Pacific, with revPAR rising 13.6% to US$101 as a result of solid increases in average room rates. If the second half of 2008 mirrors the first, there will be plenty of reasons for hoteliers to be optimistic for the future.
