.jpg) On October 8, 2008, in Washington, D.C., executives from private and public sectors gathered to collaborate on how to raise their game in the area of data protection. In a world in which data thieves are raising their game, and data protection is a global concern, participants shared perspectives with one another on how to protect data from those who seek to exploit it. Interactive Dialogue and Graphic Recording
In addition to perspectives shared by panelists from private and public sectors, the Deputy Head of Criminal and Enforcement Policy in the United Kingdom joined the discussion to provide real cases from the United Kingdom to introduce each discussion topic. Participants responded through voting devices to polling questions posed at the beginning of each discussion topic; responses were tabulated in real-time to drive the highly interactive facilitated discussion. A graphic artist participated in the program throughout the day, recording the interactive session through visual representation as the program progressed. Topics Discussed - Third Party Data Exchange: Ensuring data is properly safeguarded by third parties receiving it
- Creating a Culture for Data Protection: Making data protection a part of your corporate culture
- Insider Threat: Mitigating the risk posed by those inside your organization
- Operational Fraud: Collaborating to identify fraud and minimize the risk of cybercrime across private and public sectors
