Deloitte gathered representatives of the health care industry together in Toronto, on October 23, 2007, to examine best practices and develop strategies for the growth and development of health care in Canada. As part of their commitment to identifying industry trends, attendees at the Deloitte 2007 Health Care Innovation Summit highlighted an aging population, increasing costs, and a risk of decline in revenue as the most significant issues in this industry across Canada, and around the world, in the coming years.

The second annual summit brought together health care professionals, members of the government agencies charged with planning and funding health care in Canada, academics and members of the Deloitte team working in the health care industry across Canada. “These events are intended to support industry stakeholders by allowing them to increase knowledge of emerging trends while developing new relationships across their industry,” said Dalton Truthwaite, Deloitte’s Health Services senior manager. “This industry works at a feverish pace, so it is vital to take time out to hear about other organizations from across the country share what is proven to work.”
