Business Continuity and Resilience leadership teams are facing increasingly complex delivery demands. They are expected to cover specialist areas such as: media and communications, human capital, legal and regulatory, IT disaster recovery and supplier/multi-party planning to name a few, as well as deep understanding of critical business operations.
Add to this the need to prepare and run regular tests and exercises, cover operations around the globe, and be able to address new threats which require existing response plans to be re-assessed or redrawn.
These demands on the team call for a multi-skilled collaboration to meet the workload. Not only is such a group expensive, it is hard to keep the specialists fully employed when the workload is not evenly balanced throughout the year.
Deloitte recognise that with the challenge of delivering such a wide variety of skills, the Business Continuity Manager needs greater flexibility in resource options with access to a wider range of experts to support service delivery.
