Deloitte’s Approach to Pro-Bono Work

Deloitte’s approach to community involvement is focused on delivering maximum social impact and business value by concentrating on outcomes and mobilizing the organization’s professional knowledge and skills to strengthen the nonprofit sector. As an organization that helps clients become stronger organizations, we believe we can have the greatest social impact by helping nonprofits deal with the business and operational issues that challenge their capacity to address social problems.

Deloitte committed to invest up to $50 million of in-kind pro bono engagements, in order to maximize the impact and fully harness the strengths of our organization. This new commitment represents a fundamental change in the way we approach pro bono, which will allow us to apply our talent and expertise more effectively with the nonprofits in our communities.

Nonprofits are often sophisticated in delivering their social missions, but they frequently struggle with strategic, operational and financial challenges, without adequate access to the capital they need to address them. Our ability to solve the business challenges of the biggest companies in the world makes us uniquely qualified to help tackle the problems of nonprofits and assist them in fulfilling their missions.

While our involvement in building stronger communities is good for society, it’s good for us too.  Community involvement contributes to the healthy environments that businesses need to thrive.  And, it can help attract, develop and retain talent while showcasing our values and talents to the community. Our pro-bono work is not only good for the communities where we live and work, it’s also good for business.
