The Deloitte Center for Health Solutions considers Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) to be a central feature of a transformed health care system.  A report produced by the Center, “HIE Playbook: Stakeholder Actions to Help Advance Health Information Exchanges,” offers a pragmatic look at the current HIE landscape and presents action items that key stakeholders might take to promote HIE development at the state and local levels.

The report offers recommendations specific to each stakeholder group, including: the federal government, state government, employers, health care providers, health plans/pharmacy benefit managers and pharmacies/labs.
