Deloitte Legal won a court suit for appealing of financial corrections under Operational programme "Environment 2007-2013" 

The litigation team of Deloitte Legal Law Firm won at first court instance further lawsuit against the Managing Authority of Operational Programme “Environment 2007 – 2013” (the “Managing Authority”). Deloitte Legal represented Loznitsa Municipality, appealing a decision of the Managing Authority dated 8 March 2022 for determination of a financial correction in the amount of approximately BGN 1,5 million from the value of the costs under a public procurement contract with total amount of more than BGN 8 million. The attorneys’ team was led by Zvezdelina Filova, Country Legal Leader for Bulgaria and included Senior Associate Konstantin Ivanov and Associate Georgi Stefanov.

On 4 July 2022 the Administrative Court of Razgrad ruled a Decision № 92 under administrative case № 80/2022 entirely in favour of Loznitsa Municipality – claimant in the court proceedings. With arguments exposed in the appeal prepared by Deloitte Legal, the court adopted a view that the decision of the Managing Authority was issued in contradiction with the material laws. Also, the court accepted as grounded the objection made by Deloitte lawyers for expired prescription period.
