Event spotlight: PowerToFly networking event

In collaboration with PowerToFly, Deloitte Services LP’s Information Technology Services (ITS) organization recently hosted a professional networking event highlighting Deloitte’s commitment to supporting women in technology. PowerToFly strives to elevate the careers of women in technology through webinars, events, mentoring, and connecting them to opportunities with organizations like Deloitte.

A bistro patio at Deloitte’s Hermitage office in Tennessee was transformed into a jazz café, creating an informal and lively environment for participants to get to know one another. Over 45 women attended the event.

“The PowerToFly event was the first of its kind at the Deloitte Hermitage office,” shared Tami Deakins, ITS PMO Leader, Deloitte Services LP. “It was a powerful way to bring in women across technology, from as far away as Atlanta and Knoxville, to introduce them to Deloitte and what we have to offer.”

The meet-and-greet style event included a panel discussion with ITS leaders. During this fireside chat, participants were encouraged to ask questions and seek advice around the theme women in technology. Discussions also centered around well-being and life at Deloitte.

“The event was fantastic. It was poignant from my perspective because it gave me hope,” shared one attendee. “Hope that enlightened companies exist and hope that one day a better future is on the horizon.”

Continuing on the success of this event Deloitte and PowerToFly will co-host a total of four tailored virtual and in-person networking events.
